Pandemic Recovery is Rife with Conflict

By Lee Mozena, EXL Mediation Founder & Owner
If it seems that people you interact with at work or in public are more impatient, angry, or hostile this year, you're probably right. The pandemic put a lot of strain on all aspects of the workplace conflict trifecta (left).

Relationships may be re-evaluated as we return from quarantine, exhausted from personal stress (including grief), only to find disagreement over vaccinations and worry about exposure to variants. We're overwhelmed with Tasks (and maybe understaffed), as businesses struggle to capture lost profit. Finally, the often unspoken but powerful realm of Values keeps us distracted and divided. For example, what if you suffer from long-term COVID and share an office with someone who thinks it was all a hoax?

We need to talk- about loss, and fear, and the future. Management must lead civil and safe conversations, (based on group consensus of what that means.) It's difficult, uncomfortable, and vital. Call us to learn how our facilitation or training can help.
